USA Holiday 2, September 22 (Next Stop, Atlantic Avenue)

Took a bus down to Atlantic City for the day. Took about two hours or so I think, but I was sleeping most of the way. Got dropped off at one of the Trump casinos and everyone on board gets a $25 card to use on the slot machines - you have to put that money through the machine once, you can't just cash it out immediately.

Walked around the city first instead, there was a few streets with a lot of outlet stores (again) and also some famous street names. For example, I found Baltic Avenue but not Marvin Gardens!! Then headed down to the Boardwalk (and Park Place) by the shore. Not "the" Jersey Shore, just part of the shoreline in New Jersey. Besides a few casinos to the north and south, the rest of the boardwalk is just stores selling either food or t-shirts (but no magnets?).

Caesars Palace and one of the many Trump casinos.

Shopping district.

These folks are pure Baltic Avenue !

Tennessee at the Boardwalk.

Before jumping back on the bus to NY we stopped by the Trump casino to use the free cards. Jason worked out a quick way to work through about a dollar at a time (you don't even see all of the "lines" of the slot machine on the screen, you just get told if you won or lost on any of them). Somehow his machine was winning almost every time through, and spitting out a bunch of money receipts, then the machine mysteriously broke down. He ended up with about $30 in cash out of his $25 investment. Then I had a go on a couple of other machines and got beat down. I walked away with about $8 only. The lesson here kids, don't gamble on the slot machines. The funny thing is, I think the discount bus tickets to Atlantic City and back were less than the amount we made combined from the slot machines.
