USA Holiday 2, September 19 (Sam's Town)

Next and last day in Las Vegas already. If there was a way I could participate at the casinos and not just lose bags of money I could easily spend a week here instead of a weekend. Took the bus up to Fremont Street which is more of the traditional / old downtown area of Las Vegas. Some of the older casinos are still going up here, like Golden Nugget, Sahara and some others. The whole street has a roof overhead, which is supposed to have some kind of light show, but it only runs at night.

Took the bus back south beyond the strip to the Las Vegas Outlet Mall. This place looked small from the outside but massive once you get inside. The prices were good too, it's just a shame this was at the start of my trip rather than the end. Made it back up the strip in time for the second half of the early NFL games, just in time to watch Tom Brady and the Patriots fail against the crappy J-E-T-S JETS.

Tried to get a quick look at a few more places along the strip with the few hours remaining - MGM Grand, New York New York and the Fashion Show Mall. Overall Vegas was better than I thought it would be. If you lived in the US it would (perhaps obviously) be the best location for a week/weekend party. The only thing I found annoying was all the people on the street trying to hand you cards for their clubs. Not only do they stand together in a line so you force your way through each bunch of them, they do this annoying thing where they flick the card they're going to give you against the stack (presumably to make a noise for you to take notice of) then reach in front of you to hand you the card.
