I only had to get up at 9am for my allocated time at the expo, and had a short run planned before that. Down to the beachfront I got in a quick two kilometre run, with a bit of right hip pain the only issue.
After coming back to the hotel I walked across to the expo to pick up my bib for tomorrow, with only a small queue early in the day. The expo didn't have much of interest on sale, I didn't even find some good sock deals, or any clothes in the Asics shop.
Instead of coming back to the hotel I jumped on a tram that was just showing up and combined that with a bus to reach the harbour town outlets. The trip took a bit under an hour but the bus part at the end was very slow, getting stuck for several minutes at every intersection.
The worst part of the outlets is that all the sports stores are a good five minute walk or more at the very opposite end of the complex. I went into Nike first which had an extra 30% off but no good shorts or shirts like always, just the generic stuff. I did find some nice purple Pegasus Premium for $126 after the discount, although I'm not sure what I'll use them for yet.
Next I went to Asics but they had no running shoes for sale, however I did find a limited edition singlet design for an extra 20% off. I've already got a few Nike singlets but they don't have a very good fit - the medium is too short and the large is long enough but loose around the arms. I had a quick check in Adidas and New Balance, and didn't see any Puma store around.
I hurried back to the bus stop to be ready for the next bus that was due. I thought only two main routes came through, so after the 704 went past I got on the 713 to Southport that I thought was the right one. Actually I needed a similar 719 to Southport, but this one was only a bit slower and finished closer to a tram stop, so overall not a problem.
I continued with a tram back to Broadbeach North which always feels like it takes forever, then went back to Woolworths for some lunch shopping. After a few problems with the TV inputs I managed to get Squid Game 3 episode 4 to play, and even had the subtitles automatically displayed. While checking my emails I saw I could check-in for my Sunday return flight and got the window seat yet again, for the fourth time in a row. It was still only around mid afternoon but I didn't want to do much more walking for the day, so continued to rest in the hotel for a while.
The kitchen was stocked with plenty of utensils but no scissors, after which I found trying to the cut tags off an Asics singlet with a knife didn't work well.
My final trip for the day was over to the nearby Zambrero to get a burrito for dinner then watched the second last episode of Squid Game. At the conclusion of the day my steps were still under 10,000 for the day so that was a good result. The final preparation for the morning was getting my bib attached to my singlet and trying to keep hydrated.
9,080 steps with 2.1km
