USA Holiday 3, October 12 (Against The Rain)

Crappy weather was forecast for the whole day, so started indoors at BC Sports Hall Of Fame at BC Place. I was a bit sceptical about how much sports history British Columbia could possibly have. However it was actually pretty good, they had a lot of stuff from the recent 2010 Winter Olympics and some great but rather depressing exhibits dedicated to Terry Fox and Greg Moore who both died very young. There was also a area where they had some interactive games, naturally with a class of screaming kids going crazy. After they had moved on I was undefeated in several games of the virtual penalty kicks.

Canada winning the Olympic ice hockey goal medal.

These were some of the better outfits, others were horrendous.

The Olympics winners podium.

The Olympic medals.

Some new friends.

Greg Moore's indy car.

Winning without trying.

It seemed like about half of the interactive displays in the museum were broken, so that was pretty disappointing. There was also a viewing window into BC Place stadium, but they had some home expo on the ground so there was less than usual to see there.

Inside BC Place.

The rain was still going strong so a couple of plans for the afternoon had to be scrapped. I was hoping to go across to Granville Island and then maybe to Kitsilano, there was also an 18 hole pitch and putt right near the hotel, but it would have been too wet for that also. That was a shame, because I already had names picked out for my putter and wedge: biggs and wedge.

Stormy weather.
