USA Holiday 3, October 08 (Swamp Meet)

Booked in for a swamp tour from downtown for the day. I wasn't exactly sure what to expect from it, just hoping it would be alright. We got driven across the "Crescent City Connection" bridge and east of New Orleans to this gator place. From there you get on a boat which is like a small barge, rather than an airboat. They take you up the river and the driver was pretty entertaining, saw a bunch of alligators or crocodiles, whichever one they have there, a few were pretty nasty looking. They even had a small gator on board you could pick up. I was hoping to see a few things besides the gators and a couple of turtles I suppose, but other than that it was not bad.

Smaller alligator.

I'm on a boat.

Larger alligator. They don't provide much entertainment.

After getting back I took the other streetcar route up to the cemeteries district and back again. The route splits off near the end towards City Park but didn't have enough time to go all the way there too.

After getting back to the hotel I went in search of the house from the New Orleans season of The Real World from about 2010. Supposedly it was owned by NBA player Baron Davis a few years before that too. I managed to find it and it was about the same as in the TV show, it didn't look like anyone lives there at the moment.

The Real World!

I asked the front desk about getting a taxi booking sorted out since we had to leave around about 6am the next morning and they said they'd take care of it.
