December Review

The December review almost back on time.

Starting with running again, after a few weeks of training had the 2XU Wellness Run half marathon that I completed right around 80 minutes, although the course did seem a bit long at the end. With a bit of wind as well it was a good result, but I wasn't happy that I had to battle so much through the final few kilometres. I was able to get back into running faster parkruns with the race training over, three different courses going close to 17:30.

Going into the new year I'm finally running low on shoes for daily running, while I have somewhere between 6-8 training or racing pairs. I'm starting to get a bit bored of the same uninspiring shoes like Nike Pegasus, combined with the same routes going around the local suburbs.

Had a good final month on the sharemarket going up about 4%, however that was just returning to the same level from the beginning of this year and also the beginning of last year.

Went to some more local gridiron games before the break, including a match in the rain at Croydon between the top two teams. The only other change is BBL back on TV most nights, which is usually good to watch if you get a close match.

The to do list will need a bit of a reboot going into the new year:

  • Computer
    • Have used the new computer a few times but haven't switched over yet
  • Computer storage
    • Planning to get some extra cloud space for important files
    • Probably Google instead of One Drive since it doesn't require local storage
  • Holidays 2024
    • Plan and book before they become too expensive later
  • Running 2024
    • Complete a draft of events and book any travel
    • The event options look similar to every other year, not much changes

Had a slow finish to work without much to do. Doing the advent of code again for a third year took up a lot of time, probably the hardest one so far.

That's it for this month and year, will try to do the annual posts later this month but expect the list of achievements to be limited.
