April Review

 A quick review coming a bit late.

Nothing really for the miscellaneous section, I went to one event at the comedy festival this year which was the first in a while, Guy Montgomery from New Zealand, was a good one hour show.

A promising month of running at parkrun getting back to 17:30 results, but that was let down a little by a slightly disappointing 10km race at the first Ballarat Marathon weekend, only coming in just under 37 minutes. There was a bit of wind and hills to deal with, so I'd rate it closer to 36:30 in standard conditions, but was hoping to be closer to 36 minutes.

One bad week of shares basically erased any gains for the years, and wipes out most of the benefits of dividend payments too. Add in a $2000 quarterly tax bill and not a good month for finances.

Had some good sports coverage of the athletics national championships in Adelaide, a rare bit of coverage of track running, although I prefer either the longer distance track races or road races. Sadly the premier league is just about over for the year, and probably the worst season on record by Manchester United.

• Still undecided, hopefully the NFL schedule comes out soon to help some decisions

• Another month on the old computer, which is still working better than usual
• I got the CPU cooler replaced on the new computer, nearly finished transferring files
• Running holidays
• I keep looking for interstate options but not finding much

A standard month at work, the annual performance reviews which I really dislike and usually amount to nothing. I need to start on a Java exam soon, and also moving on to a new work computer which will probably be a bit of a pain to setup.
