January over and off to a slow start already.
Only one item for the miscellaneous section, since we 'celebrated' the 'Australia Day' public holiday towards the end of the month. I'm not sure how it escalated so quickly in recent years but the day is quite full of negativity now, rather than promoting positive debate or change. If the day to celebrate the country was moved I'd be interested to see if there would still be 'Invasion Day' protests and if they would have a different tone.
A quiet month of running with not much racing to look forward to for a while. Two new parkruns at Kerang on new year's day and at Queen's Domain in Hobart.
The shares have started the year well but it feels like that momentum is about to change. There's either a new story about USA inflation fears or USA recession fears, so you can't win. Came out about 10% ahead for the month which was a great result for once. My share investment loan is being sold to another bank which is not very convenient, so it might be a sign to close that account.
Another Australian Open with predictable results and the same old commentary. Switching to a new channel in recent years you hope for something a bit different, but it's all the same. Only got to watch a few games of the NFL playoffs but it hasn't been the best year, I was hoping for the Cincinatti Bengals to make the superbowl instead it's the Kansas City Chiefs once again. The BBL was the same again, Melbourne teams always losing.
The to do list should be reloaded for a new year, but not so much.
