It's the monthly review.
The 'lockdown notes' have a little bit of life left still, but might need a new name.
- The media declares each day as the 'biggest day of vaccinations so far'
- It's hardly an achievement with those numbers
- The slow start to Victorian vaccinations is being described as 'clever' and 'safe'
- The media show up to film wherever someone is getting a vaccination
- Everyone states the obvious that it doesn't really hurt
- Europe pausing the AstraZeneca vaccine due to possible side effects
- Of course it's the only option we have put all our hopes on
- The media describes the AFL restarting as 'an important step in our COVID recovery'
- Delays in restarting the hotel quarantine because they are 'reviewing' the 'new' virus strains
- These are strains from the last year which have been reviewed extensively elsewhere
- The slow rollout continues, nowhere near original 4 million target
- This the new favourite topic of discussion
- The government got very lucky to be able to use international shipments an an excuse
- I'm not sure what happened to that 150 million doses we supposedly negotiated
A grind month of running with no races coming up and various small injuries. The only highlights were a few new parkruns at Altona Beach, Point Cook, and Cascades On Clyde Wetlands - a couple of seconds and a first place, just various times in the mid 18 minute range.
I was looking at the possibility of doing the Canberra half marathon, and started doing some longer training sessions, but in the end there was a bit too much uncertainty with additional injury issues - and last minute organising.

My shares had a terrible month with no highlights, like six weeks of losses in a row. I've had to finally give up on A2 Milk and sold down some Afterpay to get a better balance. So now they'll probably both recover within the next six months. None of this helps with planning for a house deposit.
Not many highlights in sport other than the AFL starting, and Carlton back to losing again. The other major event was the NCAA March Madness basketball which I had on in the background while working from home, but wasn't really concentrating on.
The to do list:
- 2021 goals
- Bills - won't be saving any money this month
- Car service
- Health insurance
- House repairs - must be around 20 years old so things start breaking down
- Garage door motor replacement
- Gas central heating replacement
Still just doing one day of work from the city at the moment. Lots of people moving off the project but I'm happy to be around for a while longer.
That's it for this month.
