October Review

Starting with running as usual, the recurring shin pain has settled down so I was able to run close to 300 kilometres which I haven't managed since 2015. I attempted to beat my recent 5km pb at the track but just missed out. I also attempted to beat my old 10km record, another 2018 goal, but missed out twice there as well.

Just one race for the month, my first time at the Lara fun run for another 10km. The course was better than usual as it was on gravel, the distance was a bit over 10km but going by pace it was not bad.

No biking.

Nothing good to report in shares. The worst month in years or something like that.
Haven't even made a profit for the year and my investment loan is barely breaking even.

The busy time of year for international sports with NBA, NFL and premier league all going.
It's too hard to watch all of the NBA highlights, and I'm not really liking the shift to high scoring and no defense this year.

Nothing much happening on the to do list, needs a clean out for the end of the year.

  • Car - Had another look at options, surprised that prices hadn't changed much
  • Christmas - Should book some hotels soon for any short trips, near some good spots for casual running and park runs
  • Running schedule - Got a better plan up to the end of the year, should plan a bit further ahead and there's a few NZ options about six months away

Been a bit slow at work, just trying to switch across three projects all at once is difficult. Should finish off in the middle of December which isn't the best time to be looking for a new assignment.

That's it for this month.
